“Dont do this… You’ve been down this road before… greedy hands grabbing your hair and scratching
your skin… unidentified voices whispering your name… provoking you… manipulating you…. NO…
don’t do this…”

While the rain, wind and thunder diligently try to out-noise each other outside, Shook sits silently
behind his synthesizer in a dark, hidden studio. The sunglasses are off, and all shields are down.
Motionless, he stares at the piece of paper in his hand. The neatly folded letter mysteriously found
its way into his mailbox this morning. It only states two words, but they are words that haunt him
vividly.

“It’s not too late… NO… you know what will happen next… This is not a good idea..”

His eyes not moving from the note, Shook reaches for the on-button on his synthesizer. As the
machine powers up soundlessly, he suddenly hears the two words throbbing between the raindrops.

Echoing through his head they make him flinch. It almost seems the squiggly pen strokes on the
paper are taunting him, laughing at him…

“Don’t you dare… don’t even think about it… don’t …”

Then the sharp tones from the B-minor chord, suddenly arising from his synth drown out his voice of
reason… He plays… his DISTORTED LOVE
